Welcome to The Peoples Church of East Lansing!

We are so glad you’re interested in learning more.

We worship together each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Our 8:30 a.m. service takes place in the Chapel, and communion is offered each week.  Our 10:30 a.m. service takes place in the large Sanctuary, and communion is offered the first Sunday of each month.  Children are always welcome.  Sunday School for children takes place during the 10:30 a.m. service most weeks, following the children's moment.

Who We Are
The Peoples Church is a multi-denominational church; we are made up of and welcome people from a variety of denominations and faith traditions and people who are just beginning to explore their Christian faith. The Peoples Church building is a beautiful landmark building in downtown East Lansing. The Peoples Church people are diverse and welcoming. Our congregation has young families through seniors, and we provide worship, service and learning opportunities for all. Our close proximity to Michigan State University also makes The Peoples Church a popular faith community for students, staff and faculty of MSU. Whether you are young or old, rich or poor, doubtful or hopeful … no matter where you are in your faith journey, YOU are welcome here. You are invited to join us, and participate in any and all ways you feel comfortable. Be assured, we understand that noises and wiggling from young worshipers are signs that our church is alive and growing. Your entire family is welcome here.

What to Expect
We recognize it can be intimidating to visit a new church; we want you to be comfortable here. We have two services each Sunday, and our worship style is the traditional style one might expect from a big, historic church, but with good energy and a friendly environment.

Participation in a faith community is both personal and communal, formal and informal, sincere and casual. Here at The Peoples Church, we recognize that people come to worship God in both joy and pain, faith and doubt, with laughter and with tears. Our worship tries to reflect a desire both for meditation and celebration.
Whether you choose to try our 8:30 a.m. service in the chapel, or our larger 10:30 a.m. service in the main sanctuary with children’s Sunday school available, you will be greeted and offered a worship bulletin that will guide you through the service. Also, the Welcome Desk near the sanctuary is staffed by volunteers from our Welcome Ministry who are ready to help and answer questions.

Parking and Accessibility
Parking is available on-site in the parking lot on the west side of the building, and in the surrounding city lots (meters are not active on Sundays). There is a ramp and elevator entrance on the north side that is wheelchair accessible, and an accessible and gender-neutral private bathroom on the main floor.
We offer large print bulletins at both services. At the 10:30 a.m. service there are also earpieces that amplify the sound system. Please let ushers know how they might help you be comfortable here.
