NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY

The Peoples Church supports and assists communities nationally and internationally through gifts of money and volunteer hours. All of these efforts are part of our call as Christians to love God and love our neighbor — whether it's our neighbor is down the street or our neighbor on the other side of the world.

The Peoples Church has worked with Re-Member Mission on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation for more than a decade. This community is among the poorest in the nation. Re-Member was formed in 1997 to work with Lakota people to improve living conditions on the resrvation by creating more affordable and adequate housing. The Peoples Church has regularly sent volunteers to help build bunk beds, repair homes, and be immersed in the Lakota culture.

Every other year, our college students travel to Villa El Salvador, Peru to immerse themselves in the culture and help at a local community kitchen and senior center. Additionally, many members of our congregation support students at the Nyaka Orphan AIDS project in Uganda.
