Sunday School

Volunteer positions include Infant/Toddler Coordinator, Lead Teachers, Teachers and Helpers. Generally there are 4 teachers and 4 helpers in each class that teach/help once per month. The only requirements are that you love the Lord and love children.

Christmas Program

Can you…
Help children with singing, dancing, or acting?
Construct sets?
Work with light and sound equipment?
Make costumes?
Take pictures?
Help out with refreshments?

VBS

Station Leaders handle one area of VBS.  Areas include Music, Bible Adventure, Crafts, Games, Snacks, Chadder, Spotlight Theatre and the Counselor in Training (CIT) Program.  Volunteer adults need to be available the entire week from 9:00-4:00 and love children and the Lord.

Crew Leaders are “big brothers” or “big sisters” to a mixed-age group of 5-6 children.  Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and entering the 9th grade, available the entire week from 8:30-4:30 and love children and the Lord.

Preschool VBS

Preschool Crew Leaders are “big brothers” or “big sisters” to a mixed-age group of 4-5 children.  Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and entering the 9th grade, available the entire week from 8:30-12:30 and love children and the Lord.

Extra hands (age 10 and up) are always needed for crafts, snacks, picture taking and crowd control.

Parking Lot Fundraisers

Children’s Christian Education is blessed to be able to use the Peoples Church Parking Lot to raise money by doing Event Parking.  We need volunteers to staff the lot at the following dates and times:

MSU Football Parking Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 8:00-12:00
East Lansing Arts Festival Parking Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 9:00-5:00
East Lansing Arts Festival Parking Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 8:00-4:00

Great Lakes Folk Festival

Children’s Christian Education runs a “Giant Slide” the weekend of the Great Lakes Folk Festival.  We need people to take money and serve as slide attendants for 2-3 hours each at the following dates and times:

Friday, August 13, 2010 from 5:00-11:00
Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 10:00-10:00
Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 10:00-7:00

Christian Children’s Fund

Peoples Church supports three children through the Christian Children’s Fund.  Kattiyaporn from Thailand, David from Texas and Joaquin from Mexico are extremely grateful for the money that our children put in the offering basket during Children’s Moment.  All of this money goes directly toward the health, education and nutrition of these needy children.  This is an excellent opportunity to teach children to give of themselves, especially those less fortunate.  Our Sunday School classes correspond with our penpals at least three times a year.
