The Peoples Church Community Garden
We have a garden plot in the Tower Community Gardens sponsored by the Lansing Food Bank. In exchange for some volunteer labor, the pleasure of working the soil and the miracle of witnessing the bountiful harvest of a well-tended garden, Peoples Church (TPC) will be able to make a significant contribution to the Greater Lansing Food Bank through its donations. "Undie Sundays"
Summer at Peoples Church means "Undie Sundays" and collecting new children’s underwear to complete school outfits that will be distributed for back-to-school by Judson Memorial Baptist Church. Because there is a shortage of children’s underwear--briefs, t-shirts, socks, etc.—for low income Lansing area children, this project will, once again, take the place of collecting school supplies.Beneath the surface, there is a need to be filled in the Lansing area and Peoples Church can make a difference. Let’s get "behind" this project!Remember…this summer, Every Sunday is Undie Sunday!

Haiti Village Bank Project
A Village Bank provides financial services such as small loans, financial education, and savings for the world’s poorest people. In 2007, Peoples Church began working with FINCA International to open a Village Bank in Malawi. We have once again entered the world of microfinance with FINCA International to sponsor the development of our second Village Bank in Haiti. Haiti is the least-developed country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest in the world. In Haiti, small amounts of capital—typically $50-$400—can make the difference between absolute poverty and being able to generate enough income to feed a family, send children to school, and have decent housing. Each dollar that Peoples Church donates to a FINCA Village Bank is used for an average of 3 loans in the first year. The program participant is expected to repay the loan in an average of four months. Each loan provides start up capital that will support an average family of five. Peoples Church’s initial investment of $5,000 will result in $15,000 worth of loans in the first year benefiting 300 clients and improving the lives of 1500 people. With nearly a 100% repayment history, our donation will rotate into perpetuity, multiplying its impact countless times.Click here to read all about this great endeavor!
