Is the church trying to create new trends for communicating the gospel or are we merely following the lead of the culture and adapting (slowly) to what is currently working?

Do "special" worship services imply something less than special during non-Holiday Sundays?

Re: Putting our best foot forward
I have never seen you give anything less than your best at any service that I've attended. I personally look forward to Lent and Advent and love the how special those services are! I don't think those minimalize the services outside of those two seasons either. You mix stuff up enough from week to week to keep it interesting every Sunday and I always look forward to seeing how you get from the beginning to the end of a sermon. You always put some of yourself, your life and your family in all that you do. We're all getting to know you through your ministry. It's been wonderful!
Re: Putting our best foot forward
I guess my understanding is this time of year IS special, and we should have special worship services. Doesn't in my opinion, lessen any other worship service but highlights the basis of our beliefs.
