Caring Ministry

The Peoples Church Caring Ministry nurtures the various gifts of church members to care for one another.  This ministry strives to respond to certain physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of as many members as possible through a network of volunteers within the church and services from the teams for members in need.  Our mission is: “Members sharing, members caring for one another….”

There are many opportunities to participate in a variety of activities and group experiences within Caring Ministry.  Those include the Card Ministry, Flower Delivery Team, Prayer Chain, Visitation Team, and Stephen Ministers.  Some of these groups offer training as well.  In addition to these groups Caring Ministry also sponsors Marriage Enrichment Seminars, Family Seminars, Friday Prayer and Devotion Time, Women’s Spirituality groups, Grief Recovery programs.  Pastoral Care and Spiritual Direction are also offered as part of our Caring Ministry program.

The Ministry is proud to introduce the HEART team (Hope for Eliminating Abuse in Relationships Today).  The HEART team has been trained through the Open Eyes of Faith (www.openeyesoffaith.org) to act as a leadership partners for The Peoples Church congregation.  The HEART team stands ready to provide a compassionate and understanding response to persons whose lives are affected by domestic violence; to refer people who need additional community resources to those entities; and to keep the congregation informed about taking opportunities to end domestic violence.  The HEART Team members are Flo Baerren, Jennifer Hill, Mary Anne Larzelere, and Jennifer Rosa.
